PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost releases Year of the Pig stamps to welcome 2019


The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) releases Year of the Pig special stamps to welcome the year 2019 in the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

The Pig is the symbol of wealth in Chinese culture. Occupying the last position in the Chinese Zodiac, the 12th, people born under this sign are energetic, diligent, compassionate, and generous.

The 2019 New Year Stamp also comes with a souvenir sheet to highlight the colors gold in special round perforation which symbolizes love and compassion.

PHLPost has printed 50,000 copies of the two (2) different colorful designs of the regular stamps which can be purchased at P12.00 and P45.00 per stamp.

In addition, PHLPost also printed 4,000 copies of the limited edition souvenir sheets to be sold at P200.00 each for stamp collectors.

The layout of the stamps was done by in-house graphic artist Rodine C. Teodoro.

The stamps and official first day cover will be available on November 21, 2018 at the Post Shop, Central Post Office, Door 203, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila and area post offices nationwide. For inquiries, please call 527-01-08 or 527-01-32.
