PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost, ICRC gives smiles and hopes to siege victims in Marawi


The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) together with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) once again showered smiles and hopes to the victims of Marawi siege in Iligan City last September 26, 2018.

The distribution of cash grants amounting to Php10, 000 each to 323 chosen beneficiaries was successfully held at Maria Christina Gymnasium, Iligan City.

ICRC’s chosen beneficiaries of the cash grants are those home-based and evacuation center-based internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Piagapo, Lanao Del Sur.

The distribution is for the Livelihood Recovery Support of the remaining IDPs from ground-zero of Marawi and is not a conditional cash grants given before.

PHLPost Area 8 payout team was headed by Acting Area Representative Madelon Nanette Lumantas (Biling Officer), Cecille Cotapte (Marketing Specialist), Monique Tablando (Cashier), and Jose Tejap (Driver /Team Member).

Also ICRC’s Finance Officer Arben Joseph Balsote together with local government representatives was present during the distribution program.
