PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost, Red Cross distributes cash grants to Typhoon Urduja victims


Biliran City - Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) and Philippine Red Cross (PRC) tied up again in the distribution of Household Livelihood Assistance to victims of Typhoon Urduja at Naval State University, Biliran Province last September 21.

PHLPost distributes the 2nd half with Php4, 000 each to 206 beneficiaries situated in Barangays: Julita, Sanggalang, Busali, and Hugpa of Biliran Province.

Meanwhile, last August 29 in the same setting, PHLPost assisted the PRC in the distribution of Php6, 000 as part of the 1st half cash grants of the Household Livelihood Assistance project to the same beneficiaries but with a total of 216.

10 beneficiaries from the 1st half didn’t received the additional cash grants distributed in the 2nd half amounting to Php4, 000 due to disqualifications or failure to submit supporting documents discussed during their orientation beforehand.

Further, the 206 beneficiaries of the 4 Barangays received the accumulative total of Php10, 000 from the 1st and 2nd half of the cash grants.

PHLPost representative for the 2-day payout were Postmaster Lorna Aguja and Edna Lacapa from Area 5.
It was December 2017 when typhoon Urduja battered the southern part of the Philippines washing off more than P1 billion worth of infrastructure and agriculture products and casualties.
