PHLPost, DepEd invite students to write letters of gratitudeSeptember 25, 2018 Posted By: Corp.Comm
The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) has launched the “Salamat Po Teacher” letter writing for young people to celebrate 2018 National Teachers’ Month (NTM) which aims to effectively promote the value of gratitude to teachers and the important role they play in the lives of the students and society.
PHLPost is inviting elementary, junior and senior high schools to write and mail letters of gratitude, in which they will have the chance to win in the raffle contest and compete in the letter writing competition for local and international level.
According to Ms.Bea Gervacio, PHLPost Letter Writing Advocacy Director, the postal service celebrate teachers’ month “to give thanks and appreciate the sacrifice and dedication of our beloved teachers by sending them a letter of gratitude.”
First, simply write a “Thank You” letter to their teachers. Their letters must be sealed in an envelope where the complete details of the sender and addressee are clearly written and visible. The thank you letters shall be mailed via the Post Office through Ordinary Mail Service. They will be given a raffle stub to be filled up and shall be dropped in designated boxes located at post offices.
All entries collected in the “Salamat Po Teacher” raffle promo will have the chance to join the regional on-the spot letter writing competition using the theme: “4A’s of Gratitude: Appreciation, Admiration, approval and attention”.
Aside from the raffle promo. PHLPost will also pick 10 entries per postal areas to participate in the on-the spot regional letter writing competition. There will be three (3) winners in each postal areas. The winners in the postal areas will qualify for the National on the Spot Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition. The winning entry for the National Letter Writing Contest will get P10,000 in cash and will represent our country in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Letter Writing Competition in Berne, Switzerland to compete from among the 191 countries who are members of the UPU.
PHLPost also unveiled the special commemorative stamp and official logo design for this year’s teachers’ day celebration from September 05 – October 05, 2018.
