PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost receives FOI Compliant Seal

Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) received its Compliant Seal for the Freedom of Information (FOI) issued by Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) in Malacañang recently.

The corporation was cited as one of the agency in 2017 that is fully-compliant with the requirements set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Harmonizing of National Government Performance Monitoring, Information and Reporting System.

Conferred by PCOO Sec. Martin Andanar, PHLPost is given a certificate of compliance as it adheres to the directives under Executive Order (EO) No. 2, S 2016.

'We are very much delighted to received this certificate as it is a testament that we, as a Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation, has been transparent in all of its endeavor to serve our countrymen and in support with the president in his campaign to fight against corruption' PHLPost Postmaster General and CEO Joel Otarra said.

FOI program is the government’s response to the call for transparency and full public disclosure of information. Also, it is a government’s mechanism which allows Filipino citizens to request information about government transactions and operations provided that it shall not put into jeopardy – privacy and matters of national security, as signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte under EO 2 last July 23, 2016.
