PRESS RELEASE: Commemorative stamps to mark history


The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is one of the only two institution who could produced money out of paper through its stamps.

And one of its pride is the issuance of commemorative stamps celebrating milestones years, to honor or commemorate a significant place, event, person or organization.

Just recently, Rotary Club of Manila (RCM) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with PHLPost for the issuance of a commemorative stamps in celebration of their 100 years in service. An exhibit of historical stamps entitled Pamana was also organized last May 26, 2018 with “A walk through memory lane” as its purpose.

“PHLPost is happy to serve RCM and any other agency or organization who wish to have their own stamps to commemorate milestones anniversaries,” Postmaster General Joel Otarra said.

PHLPost perceive this as an opportunity for institutions and agencies to be part of Philippine history. Stamps are square pieces of paper depicting special and momentous event in the history.

PHLPost is opening its doors to anyone who would want to discuss commemorative stamps. Institutions or agencies may signify their intent through PHLPost Philately, Postshop and Museum Division at (02) 527 0132 or the nearest post office.
